My name is Chelsea Bass. I’m a novice housewife and a student of speech language pathologies. I’m a modern girl with prairie flare. Some people think I’m creative, but the truth is, I’m a good mimic. Thanks for sharing with me in my adventures through love, life, and domesticity.

Thanks for stopping by this little blog o' mine. Here are some things you should know:
  • I belong to Jesus.
  • I love my husband, Kyle, and he loves me.  We were married on August 12, 2006.
  • I am studying to be a speech language pathologist (that's a speech therapist, if you aren't familiar with the term).
Why “Across the Brandywine?” In the earlier days of my blog, I wanted a theme that was unique. I thought for a long time, and nothing came. On a whim, my husband Kyle suggested a line from Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring where one hobbit says, “And no wonder they’re queer, … if they live on the wrong side of the Brandywine River, and right akin the Old Forest. That’s a dark bad place, if half the tales be true.

I started to think about the unknown life across the Brandywine, the mystery, the strangeness, the adventure. And so, it seemed fitting that I, a newlywed and in my early 20s, would have a blog that cataloged life’s adventures “Across the Brandywine.”

I'm happy you're here with me.
